Grant Description
Application purpose: The purpose of this award is to fund the purchase and installation of a CNG station, the purchase of 4 35 CNG buses to replace 4 diesel buses, and the provision of CNG-related training to GTAS mechanics.
Activities performed: This application is for funding to cover costs associated with the purchase and installation of a CNG station, the purchase of 4 35 CNG buses to replace 4 diesel buses, and the provision of CNG-related training to GTAS mechanics.
Expected outcomes: This project will result in: 1) a reduction of total emissions through the decrease in number of diesel buses by incorporation of CNG buses into GTAS expanding fleet; 2) greater economic mobility for transit users; 3) greater racial equity via decreased social vulnerability of transit users; 4) investment in Greenlinks workforce by providing skillset development opportunities via on-the-job training for both mechanics and operators; and 5) another step toward a zero-emission fixed route fleet.
