Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
The Turlock Irrigation District (DISTRICT), located in the San Joaquin Valley of California, will install a floating solar photovoltaic energy generation system on the Lateral 8 regulating reservoir.
The system will have two floating solar arrays with accompanying grid-interactive inverters.
The solar facility's planned energy capacity will be rated to 4,000 kilowatts, for an estimated total annual energy generation of over 8,700,000 kilowatt-hours, powering the Lateral 8 pump station and bolstering the DISTRICT's electrical grid, which serves residential and commercial customers.
The project is also expected to result in annual water savings of 110 acre-feet due to reduced reservoir evaporation.
