Project Grant

Overview

Grant Description
This agreement covers the activities necessary for the design and construction of Water Reclamation Plant Number 10 (WRP-10) non-potable water system expansion project (project). The WRP-10 water system expansion project will expand the Coachella Valley Water District's non-potable water (NPW) system over multiple phases to enhance the sustainability of groundwater supplies, eliminate land disposal of secondary treated wastewater, and maximize delivery of recycled water to WRP-10's non-potable customers for landscape irrigation.

Following completion of both phases, approximately 20,620 acre-feet per year of non-potable water will be delivered to 20 customers. This award is for the first phase of the project called Short-Term Connections and includes approximately 9.5 miles of NPW pipeline segments, seven new NPW customer connections, and the replacement of one pump station.

The project will produce numerous benefits:
1) Enhance the sustainability of groundwater supplies
2) Eliminate land disposal of secondary treated wastewater
3) Maximize delivery of recycled water to WRP-10's non-potable customers.
