Overview

Grant Description
Construction and improvements through this grant agreement will be used for treatment upgrades at Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater Authority's existing wastewater treatment plant, conveyance infrastructure for product water, brine minimization processes, recharge basins, brine evaporation ponds, and monitoring wells to supply treated effluent for the beneficial use in the valley. This project also includes construction of a new drinking water well to replace two existing wells that have the potential to be impacted by the recycled water discharge.

Implementation of Replenish Big Bear will provide 1,950 acre feet per year of high quality water and the reduced need for imported water. This will benefit Big Bear Valley community, recreational opportunities, and wildlife habitat.
