Grant Description
The purpose of the Heritage Partnership Program funding is to engage National Heritage Area recipients, partners, communities, and or visitors in shared environmental stewardship. This is done by promoting greater public and private participation in preservation, conservation, education, and outdoor recreation programs and activities, and building resource stewardship ethics in its participants.
The projects completed under this agreement are to implement the Journey Through Hallowed Ground National Heritage Area Management Plan. The National Park Service (NPS) and the Journey Through Hallowed Ground Partnership collaborate, with the NPS providing technical and financial support throughout the management plan implementation.
This funding will be used for administrative and operational programming and staffing, development and implementation of resource stewardship and preservation educational initiatives, administrative and operational support for guided interpretative trip planning and tours, and for cultural revitalization efforts, historic preservation activities, educational programming and the preservation of the arts culture. Beneficiaries include general public, states and or their political subdivisions, non-profits, private entities, the Heritage Area Management Coordinating Entity.
