Grant Description
Illinois Department of Natural Resources will utilize a Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant to renovate Pere Marquette State Park. The project will include the rehabilitation or replacement of facilities and infrastructure associated with the Ouatoga Group Camp Area. The focus shall be the repair of existing structures and facilities.
Specific elements in these buildings to be evaluated and repaired include, but are not limited to: doors, windows, roofs, foundations, walls, siding, fireplace stonework, flooring, stairs steps, structural supports, shutters, fascia and trim, railings, joists, rafters, hardware, etc.
In addition to the structures, infrastructure within the group camp also needs repair, upgrade or replacement. These infrastructure elements include, but are not limited to: utilities, swimming pools, pool equipment, shower buildings, road and parking facilities, etc.
Restoration of site grounds is also needed, including but not limited to elements such as grading, drainage, trenching, sidewalks and landscaping. Completion of this project will increase outdoor recreation experience and benefit visitors of all ages and abilities.
