Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
The California Department of Parks and Recreation will subgrant the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant to the City of Carson to renovate the aged Foisia Park.
The project includes constructing a new amphitheater stage, picnic areas with shade structures, fitness stations, accessible pedestrian walkways, jogging track, and security lighting. Renovations will be made to the ballfield, children's play area, restrooms, snack shack, and parking lot. Additionally, a new park entrance sign will be installed.
The project provides critical recreational amenities for the entire Carson population and particularly for the residents living within a half mile who requested culture be embedded in every aspect of the new park design to reflect Carson's diversity.
The long-term recreation benefits include protecting this land in perpetuity for recreational purposes and transforming this aging park into a thriving park.
