Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
The NY State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will construct new stairs and renovate railings and existing stairs at Niagara Falls State Park. These upgrades aim to improve visitor access to the American Falls, specifically the area known as the Crow's Nest, which is located halfway up the gorge face.
Presently, the area is only accessible by elevator, resulting in extremely long lines for visitors. The scope of work will provide far better access from the falls to the lower gorge known as Prospect Point. Once the new stair connections are completed, visitors will have an improved visitor experience, with upgrades increasing visitor access to the falls and decreasing visitor wait times to reach the area.
