Grant Description
Application purpose: The purpose of this award is to provide capital project funding for five (5) replacement fixed route transit vehicles.
Activities performed: The activity to be performed is the procurement of five (5) replacement 35 CNG-powered revenue transit vehicles.
Expected outcomes: The expected outcomes of this grant are to enable PARTA to replace outdated vehicles, lower the age of PARTA's fleet, reduce maintenance costs, and meet preventative maintenance standards, which will keep transit equipment and facilities in a state of good repair.
PARTA's replacement vehicles will also improve customer experience, ridership, and transit system reliability, which will ensure the sustainability of PARTA's public transportation service.
Intended beneficiaries: The intended beneficiaries of this funding are public transit riders in Portage County, Ohio, as well as passengers that utilize PARTA's express routes to Akron and Cleveland, Ohio.
This award will benefit riders by improving the safety and service reliability of public transit service.
