Grant Description
Application purpose: The purpose of this grant is to provide funding for public transportation projects in the rural regions of Ohio.
These projects include capital projects, workforce development related activities, and low and no emission projects.
Activities performed: Funds will be used to cover capital and planning costs for the purchase of vehicles, equipment, training, and other activities.
Expected outcomes: Continued safe and effective operation of transit services as well as to improve positive health outcomes, decrease health disparities, increase job access and work opportunities, improve the air quality, and support the local economies in the rural parts of the state.
Intended beneficiaries: Public transit systems that provide rural transit service as well as the citizens of Ohio who will be able to utilize said service.
Subrecipient activities: All the work under this grant, excluding workforce development provided by CALSTART and NEORIDE, will be performed by the various sub-recipients who will be outlined in the program of projects.
