Formula Grant
Overview
Grant Description
Application Purpose: The purpose of this award is to construct safe routes to transit along 86th Street bus stop under the elevated subway improvements as well as perform environmental compliance upgrades to ferry vessels.
Activities Performed: The safe routes to transit along 86th Street project will construct concrete bus bulbs, bus pads, and concrete curb extensions as well as modify existing ferries in such a manner so they can hold gray water onboard until it can be pumped ashore.
Expected Outcomes: The safe routes to transit along 86th Street project will create safer, more accessible bus stations and pedestrian safety improvements. Environmental compliance upgrades will make the City of New York more sustainable by ending the discharge of gray water by SIF ferries into waterways.
Intended Beneficiaries: Local residents, transit-dependent populations including bus and ferry riders, will benefit from the improved service and environmental sustainability delivered by the proposed projects.
Subrecipient Activities: There will be no subrecipient funds awarded as part of this grant agreement.
