Grant Description
Application Purpose: The purpose of this award is to provide the awarded subrecipients operating assistance funding to provide transportation services for people in the non-urbanized areas of the state.
Activities Performed: Funds will be used to cover eligible operating expenses such as driver salaries, fuel, and items having a useful life of less than one year to continue service for people with mobility needs in the rural areas. This COVID funding (CRRSAA) is awarded along with ARPA funding and core operating assistance in other grants to support the performance of providing operating services to address the impacts of the pandemic on these services.
Expected Outcomes: Funding will permit NYSDOT and its subrecipients to continue to provide service despite the loss in ridership revenue and the increased costs of fuel, driver retention, and capital assets.
Intended Beneficiaries: People with mobility needs in non-urbanized areas.
