Grant Description
Application Purpose: The purpose of this award is to expand TTDS low- and no-emissions bus fleet replacing four aging buses with four (4) new diesel-electric hybrid low-emission buses. The fleet replacement project improves safety reliability mobility and public health for the Lake Tahoe Basins residents commuters and visitors with the support of $3400000 of FY 2023 FTA Section 5339(c) discretionary funds awarded to the Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) [UZA# 069950 - Lake Tahoe Region CA-NV] increasing TTDS fleet of cleaner fuel buses within Lake Tahoes acutely environmentally sensitive region. Project ID No. D2023-LWNO-049;
Activities Performed: The purchase of four (4) ADA accessible 35-foot diesel-electric hybrid buses and their associated equipment to replace revenue fleet vehicles beyond their useful life: VIN#5WEASAAMXFH744590 TTD ID No. 206 VIN#1GBE5V1G17F419535 TTD ID No. 413 VIN#1GBE5V1G67F419661 TTD ID No. 414 VIN#1N935151X9A140201 TTD ID No. 3311;
Expected Outcomes: The new hybrid buses will serve TTDS service area improving the public health within the region the safety of the transit system and the overall transit user experience. The fleet replacement will boost service reliability through reductions in road calls and service interruptions increasing on-time performance and moving TTDS rolling stock towards its transit asset management target.;
