Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
This grant application is requesting the full amount of the FFY 2021 apportionment of 5339 funds. The federal share is 85 percent for the acquisition of vehicles for purposes of complying with or maintaining compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA; 42 U.S.C. 12101 et seq.) or the Clean Air Act (CAA; 42 U.S.C. 7401 et seq.). The vehicles to be purchased with these funds are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Formula Summary:
Total cost of all projects: $4,124,186
Total federal share of all projects: $3,500,000
Total local match share of all projects: $624,186
Award Purpose:
To maintain and expand rural transit service throughout Nevada through capital asset replacement and acquisition.
Activities to be performed:
This award will fund transit capital projects including the acquisition of vehicles and equipment.
Expected outcomes:
This award is expected to produce and preserve mobility among visitors to and residents of the state. With the passing of and adjustment to the pandemic, it is expected that ridership numbers will grow throughout the award period or at least during the first phase. This grant's funding, combined with funding from additional grants, will help to achieve a state of good repair for the state's rural transit fleet over the next four years.
Intended beneficiaries:
Mobility in rural areas is particularly important for those populations classified as most vulnerable. Although all funded services under this award will serve the general public, transit propensity will be a key determinant in the level of benefit realized by each demographic. Service provider staff will also benefit from having access to newer and more efficient equipment.
Subrecipient activities:
The grant will fund the activities generally stated under the activities to be performed section. A more detailed description of these items can be described as acquisition of replacement vehicles of various varieties as well as acquisition of equipment (electronic fareboxes and a set of column lifts).
Please see the attached NDOT Program Year 2020 5339 POP (FFY21 Apportionment) and Nevada Program Years 2022-2025 STIP (5339) for detailed information.
