Grant Description
Track D: Project Reach (Responsive Evidence-Based Assistance for Capacity-Building in HIV)

Track F: Capacity Building Assistance Provider Network (CPN) Resource and Coordinating Center (CPN-RRC) - The Centers for Disease Control has issued a request for applications (RFA) for “Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) for High Impact HIV Prevention Programs to End the HIV Epidemic in the United States,” the purpose of which is to enhance the capabilities and performance of the HIV workforce in its implementation of evidence-based HIV strategies and activities that will result in an end to the HIV epidemic in the U.S.

The Puerto Rican Organization for Community Education and Economic Development, Incorporated (PROCEED) is seeking funding under CDC-RFA-PS24-0020 for Track D: Technical Assistance for High-Impact HIV Prevention Programs and Track F: CPN Resource and Coordination Center.

For Track D: Project Reach (Responsive Evidence-Based Assistance for Capacity-Building in HIV) – a national CBA program that aims to enhance the capabilities of community-based organizations (CBOs) and health departments in addressing HIV prevention challenges.

The goal is to reduce disparities, address syndemic conditions, and combat social determinants of health.

For Track F: Capacity Building Assistance Provider Network (CPN) Resource and Coordinating Center (CPN-RRC) - will create a unified identity for the network of CBA providers funded under CDC RFA-PS24-0020 (Categories A through E), and to facilitate ongoing communication, cooperation, and coordination among CPN members to effectively promote and market available CBA services for HIV prevention programs nationwide.

Cross-component implementation strategies include:

• Eliciting POF input in project planning, implementation, and evaluation activities.

• Implementing a multi-media marketing and communications plan to engage HDS/CBOs in CBA services, retain their interests and elicit user feedback.

• Using new technology innovations to create optimal learning environments and increase the modalities by which HDS and CBOs can access CBA with consideration for their learning needs, styles of learning and delivery preferences, and time and resource constraints.

• Cultivating new and existing partnerships with CDC, CBA providers, and non-CDC entities that serve or represent HDS and CBOs to promote CBA services and facilitate across-the-board collaboration, as appropriate.

• Providing technical assistance and training in multiple formats and informed by evidence-based practices and strategies to address the priority needs of HDS/CBOs.

• Creating targeted online resource repositories for CPN members/HIV workforce.

The collective effort put forth under CDC-RFA-PS 24-0020 (Components A-F) is expected to result in a highly skilled, proficient national HIV workforce that will facilitate the reduction of new HIV infections, enhance access to healthcare, address HIV-related health disparities and inequities, improve health outcomes for individuals with HIV, and foster a unified national effort to eradicate the HIV.
