Overview
Grant Description
Component C: Elearning training for high-impact HIV prevention programs
Component E: Organization/workforce development and management for community-based organizations - HealthHIV, a national 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Washington, DC, submits this proposal in response to PS24-0020 to serve as the Component C provider to deliver impactful self-paced elearning training in HIV prevention to the national HIV workforce, and the Component E provider to deliver organization/workforce development and management (ODM) capacity building assistance (CBA) to support and sustain CBOs in comprehensive, sustainable, and impactful HIV prevention programs.
Component C: Purpose: The HealthHIV Elearning Center’s purpose is to develop accessible, culturally responsive, and timely elearning training.
The Elearning Center will engage the workforce in elearning training that supports national HIV prevention goals and strategies, CDC’s HIP approach, and health equity priorities of addressing social determinants of health and syndemics.
HealthHIV’s overarching five-year approach is informed by over 15 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive and accessible elearning training, and ten years of direct experience developing HIV prevention elearning in Lectora online for CDC’s Division of HIV Prevention.
Outcomes: By the end of the program period, HealthHIV’s Elearning Center will: 1) Increase the availability of accessible, culturally and linguistically competent, and impactful HIV prevention elearning; 2) Increase HIV knowledge, skills, and competencies and enhance HD and CBO staff capacity for equitable HIV program planning, implementation, evaluation, and service delivery; and, 3) Increase HD and CBO staff ability to effectively implement and operate equitable HIV prevention programs and services.
An anticipated long-term outcome is a highly-skilled HIV workforce nationally that promotes and supports the reduction of new HIV infections.
Component E: Purpose: HealthHIV’s “Relevant. Resilient. Ready.” program will ensure that the CBO workforce – at the forefront of the epidemic – is dynamic, sustainable, and effective in delivering HIV prevention services to end the HIV epidemic.
HealthHIV will promote and support the goals and strategies of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy, the EHE initiative, the HIV care continuum, and CDC’s HIP approach, as well as align program activities with the DHP health equity priorities of addressing SDOH and syndemics affecting HIV-related outcomes.
Outcomes: By the program period’s end, HealthHIV’s program will achieve the following outcomes: 1) Increased capacity and resiliency of CBOs in fiscal management, human resources, DEIA efforts, and other management functions; 2) Increased CBO leadership capacity; and, 3) Enhanced CBO organizational capacity, resilience, sustainability, and quality of HIV prevention programs.
An anticipated long-term outcome is a highly skilled and resilient CBO workforce that readily promotes and supports the reduction of new HIV infections, increased access to care, and improved health outcomes for people with HIV.
HealthHIV is well-positioned and highly experienced to serve as the CBA provider for both Components C and E.
For nearly 20 years, HealthHIV has implemented HIV-specific CBA and elearning training programs – including 15 years for the CDC.
HealthHIV has the staff, organizational capacity, and partnerships in place to accomplish the deliverables and achieve the intended outcomes for both components.
Serving as the C and E provider, HealthHIV will be able to create synergy and promote cross-functionality between elearning training on HIV prevention and on organizational/development and management topics for CBOs.
