Grant Description
The Puerto Rico Department of Health HIV Project - The Puerto Rico Department of Health (PRDOH) STD/HIV/VH Prevention Program (SHVHPP) and HIV Surveillance Program (HSP) will collaborate to implement activities aimed at supporting the High-Impact Prevention (HIP) strategy and the Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) initiatives within the San Juan Municipality (SJM).
Utilizing comprehensive and up-to-date data will be pivotal in customizing prevention strategies, enhancing the quality of HIV surveillance and prevention data, and facilitating community engagement efforts.
This approach will also enable the scaling-up of support for community engagement, address health equity concerns, and implement holistic strategies for HIV prevention.
The SHVHPP, HSP, and SJM will maintain their collaborative efforts to prevent new HIV infections and enhance health outcomes for individuals living with HIV.
Our focus is on reducing HIV-related disparities and health inequalities through coordinated efforts that address the HIV epidemic comprehensively.
Our jurisdiction and the SJM will implement the 6 core strategies, supplemented with additional activities, to achieve our goal of zero new HIV infections.
This includes ensuring effective access to HIV prevention and treatment services to target populations.
