Grant Description
Elc - Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Infectious Diseases - CDPH is applying for a new 5-year period of performance on the ELC grant to detect, prevent, and respond to the growing threats posed by infectious diseases through three core areas: surveillance, detection, and response; prevention and intervention; communications, coordination, and partnerships.
CDPH has submitted 17 workplans for the application this year which span the following areas: cross-cutting epidemiology, ELC leadership, health information systems, national wastewater surveillance systems, advanced molecular detection, emerging issues, foodborne, antimicrobial resistance laboratory network, global migration, healthcare-associated infections, vectorborne, mycotics, vaccine-preventable diseases, Legionella, flu, STI, rabies, and surveillance for emerging threats to pregnant people and infants.
This grant provides funding for the following programs at CDPH: communicable disease, vaccine-preventable disease, healthcare settings, foodborne & zoonotics, health information, vector, and STI, community health, congregate settings and lab-based services.
