Grant Description
New Hampshire's implementation of the Overdose Data to Action in States - The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NH DHHS) will hire a Surveillance and Prevention Principal Investigator (SPI and PPI) who will manage their respective areas of the OD2A-S grant and work collaboratively with the Injury Prevention Program Administrator, who will oversee the grant in its entirety.
An Evaluation Specialist will be contracted to assist with the evaluation and work plan processes. Under the infrastructure funding, the NH Public Health Lab will also be supported to continue testing of urine samples from emergency departments or opioids.
Strategy 2 and Strategy 3 will continue their work providing morbidity and mortality data to the CDC on a monthly basis. The SPI will work with the surveillance analysts on increasing data dissemination. The NH DHHS is also applying for optional Strategy 4 - Bio-surveillance, to link identified lab urine samples to the de-identified monthly dose data.
Prevention Strategy 6A will focus on academic detailing, and 6B will support the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program IT Enhancement. Strategy 7 will facilitate public health and public safety engagement through supporting the work of the State Mandated Overdose Fatality Review Commission.
Strategy 8 will focus on harm reduction by contracting with navigators, and Strategy 9 will provide linkages to care and services, also working with navigators.
