Grant Description
NJ Transit is requesting federal assistance in the amount of $7,074,310 of FY 2020 Low or No Emission Bus Program. Funds will support the purchase of up to eight 40-foot battery-electric buses to expand service along bus route 25 which operates in the Newark and Irvington urban communities in Essex County, NJ. The discretionary ID is D2020-LWNO-027.

These funds will be matched with Transportation Trust Funds (TTF) in the amount of $3,031,847. The total amount of the project is $10,106,157. The NJ Board of Public Utilities is funding the charging stations at Hilton Garage for incoming electric buses.

Pre-award authority is based on the award Federal Register publication date of June 2, 2020.
