Grant Description
Application Purpose: This application will be requesting 5307 and 5339 formula funds from the FY23 TIP to allow for transit enhancements, support equipment and facilities, capital operations, and unified work program. Total federal funds programmed in application is $9939844. These funds will be matched with local funds in the amount of $2484962. Local funds will be derived from local property tax asking on property located in Douglas County, Nebraska. Application programs a total of $12424806.

Activities Performed: All activities for preventative maintenance, support equipment and facilities, unified work program, and planning and capitalized operations will take place at Metro Admin and Maintenance Facility located at 2222 Cuming St, Omaha, NE, Douglas County, NE. Transit enhancement procurement will take place at Metro Admin and Maintenance Facility located at 2222 Cuming St, Omaha, NE, Douglas County, NE.

Expected Outcomes: Expected outcomes from the above projects will be to have a safe, well-planned, well-maintained transit service for customers in the metro service area and the staff and employees at Metro. Replacement shelters will allow for rapid repair to damaged transit shelters for the metro riders. Maintenance purchases and improvement to the admin and maintenance facility will facilitate rapid repair of buses with mechanical issues. Garage door replacement will ensure safe and secure storage of rolling stock.

Intended Beneficiaries: Intended beneficiaries of the projects are the transit riding public in the metro services area. Riders will benefit from well-maintained shelters and rolling stock so bus service is available and reliable. The Metro administration employees and staff will benefit from a more safe, more professionally maintained building and workplace.
