NE-2021-014
Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
Project Purpose: StarTran will construct a new fast fuel CNG station at its current location at 710 J Street, Lincoln, NE. StarTran is currently fueling its CNG buses at Sapp Bros, which is a 12.20 mile round trip. Constructing the new CNG fueling station at StarTran's current facility will reduce deadhead and additional unnecessary costs.
Activities to be performed: StarTran will be constructing a CNG fueling station that includes design of the new facility, purchase of CNG fueling equipment, and construction/installation of equipment and facility. The facility will include 2-3 250 HP compressors and a natural gas dryer generator, along with modest lighting, receptacle, and miscellaneous dispenser loads. The CNG compressors and equipment will be mounted/installed on skid loaders. This will make it so that they are easy to move in the future if needed.
Expected outcomes: StarTran will be able to fuel their CNG vehicles from the current facility location instead of driving to a 3-party location. This will save on additional costs, driver time, deadhead, etc.
Intended beneficiaries: StarTran will be the main beneficiary.
