Grant Description
Application Purpose:
NDDOT applies FFY2022 5311 Rural Apportionment in the partial amount of $7,296,401. NDDOT has suballocated $53,766 to Turtle Mountain to come in directly to FTA (suballocation letter attached under application documents). This award also includes the full FY2022 Section 5311 RTAP funds for NDDOT in the amount of $117,492 (federal). Local match funding sources are State Aid Tribal Funds Mill Levy and Fundraising.
Activities Performed:
Project 1: State or program administration for transit staff salaries, training, Blackcat software contract, drug alcohol consultant, and vehicle/facility inspection consultant.
Project 2: RTAP for training and technical assistance for rural transit agencies.
Project 3: Operating assistance for rural transit agencies.
Project 4: Project administration for rural transit agencies.
Project 5: Intercity bus - operating assistance, project administration/preventive maintenance.
Project 6: Preventive maintenance/capital for rural transit agencies.
Expected Outcomes:
Funding to provide operating assistance to rural and intercity bus transit agencies who provide and coordinate with neighboring transit agencies to provide transportation in their communities. These funds will be used to cover general administrative expenses such as salaries, marketing expenses, insurance premiums or payments, office supplies, facilities and equipment rental, standard overhead rates, and the cost of administering drug and alcohol testing. Funding will also provide for intercity bus preventive maintenance. Funding will be provided for rural transit agencies to attend in-state and out-of-state training. This request will also fund the Dakota Transit Association for planning and hosting the annual conference, technical assistance to transit agencies, website development, training, and board member travel and administrative costs. Rural and intercity bus transit agencies staff and rural transit riders throughout North Dakota.
