This application is currently for JCATS (Johnston County) to pay for engineering design of their facility and to construct the facility. This project is to apply for $3,072,299 in federal funds of the awarded amount of $17,275,000 million for the 2019 5339(b) Bus Bus Facility Discretionary Grant. 1) Purpose of Award - To construct a new transit facility for Johnston County (JCATS) in North Carolina.

2) Activities to be Performed - Construction of an administrative facility and maintenance building in Johnston County for JCATS.

3) Expected Outcomes - Improved service efficiency, vehicle maintenance operating costs, more administrative space, a conference room for training weather briefings and staff meetings, a covered shelter for passengers to transfer from one bus to another on coordinated routes, and a safer and more secure vehicle maintenance facility which will keep the vehicles in better running order as well as storing vehicles supplies that are hazardous in a more safe location.

4) Intended Beneficiaries - Citizens of Johnston County, North Carolina.
