Grant Description
Recipient is applying for Section 5339 awarded Low or No Emissions as well as Bus Formula Allocation funding in the amount of $3,077,560 federal / $5,868,847 total. The funds will be used for bus replacement and electric bus charging equipment. Funds applied for in this application are considered lapsing and are identified as follows:

- FFY18 in the amount of $1,427,560 with a lapse date of 9/30/21.

Recipient will purchase five electric buses and chargers to support the City of Raleigh's GoRaleigh Transit Authority's goal of replacing the existing bus fleet with efficient buses as current buses reach minimum useful life. The new buses will be used to ensure reliable service on an expanding transit network that will reach over 80% of the jobs within Wake County. The community approved a dedicated transit sales tax allowing a 55% local match and an allocation of an additional 10% from FTA Section 5339 formula funds against the requested grant funds. The charging stations for the five buses will be included with this project.

Also included in this application is the purchase of two bio-diesel replacement 40 transit buses that have met or are beyond their useful life.

This request is not for research and development. The City of Raleigh will not be applying our indirect cost rate to activities. The City of Raleigh is a designated recipient of FTA funds.
