TIP OF THE MITT WATERSHED COUNCIL: NIMIIGWECHWENDAM NIBIISH (I AM THANKFUL FOR WATER): CARING FOR OUR LOCAL WATERSHEDS IS A YOUTH CENTERED PLACE-BASED EDUCATION PROGRAM CONNECTING TRIBAL YOUTH WITH KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCES IN THEIR LOCAL WATERSHED IN NORTHERN MICHIGAN. THE PROJECT WILL ENGAGE STUDENTS THROUGH HANDS-ON, OUTDOOR LEARNING ABOUT LOCAL WATER RESOURCES AND WATER ISSUES IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. TIP OF THE MITT WATERSHED COUNCIL WILL WORK CLOSELY WITH THE LITTLE TRAVERSE BAY BANDS OF ODAWA INDIANS (LTBB) TO PROVIDE MEANINGFUL WATERSHED EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES (MWEES) FOR PARTICIPATING STUDENTS THROUGH THE LTBBS INDIGENOUS STEAM PROGRAM
