Overview
Grant Description
Purpose: Funds will be used to implement the Coquille Sub-Basin Plan and PCSRF priority one, allowing the Tribe and partners to conduct a restoration project within the South Fork Coquille River Sub-Basin.
The project will seek to improve limiting factors for ESA listed Oregon Coast Coho (OCC) salmon.
The project specifically seeks to improve habitats through:
1) Restoration of mainstem South Fork Coquille River bank habitat along approximately 1,300 feet (2.1 acres);
2) Enhancement of the riparian buffer of approximately 1,470 feet (0.71 acres), which will include planting and fencing;
and
3) Directly affecting OCC summer parr by improving water quality through reducing sedimentation sources, reducing stream temperatures, and increasing dissolved oxygen.

THIS IS A COOPERATIVE PROGRAM THAT ASSISTS THE STATES IN SALMON RESTORATION AND IN FULFILLING RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER THE PACIFIC SALMON TREATY BY PROVIDING ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT. SUPPORT IS PROVIDED TO TREATY INDIAN TRIBES FOR SALMON RECOVERY AND TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE PACIFIC SALMON COMMISSION AND U.S. INTERNATIONAL COMMITMENTS UNDER THE TREATY.
