Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
Interjurisdictional Fisheries Act (IJFA) funding helps the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC) and states accomplish a variety of necessary objectives including promoting and supporting policies and programs aimed at the conservation and management of fisheries and ocean resources on the West Coast.
By the nature of this funding these activities are focused on those projects that are interjurisdictional in scope and support of interjurisdictional fishery resources and management of interjurisdictional fishery resources throughout their range. These activities can be one of several types of activity. It may include those that are best described as a stand-alone project with a limited duration.
These types of activities are geared at providing some baseline information that assists in our understanding of various aspects of the West Coast fisheries. It may be an ongoing activity whose entire PSMFC funding comes from the IJFA award. These are activities that support and enhance the commissions mission statement to promote and support policies and programs and actions directed at the conservation, development, and management of fishery resources of mutual concern to the region.
It can be an activity that is an important use of the IJFA funds and is for stand-alone activities that relate to existing PSMFC and state projects. These are activities outside the normal funding for the larger projects which would not be done without the use of IJFA funds. Award documents revised aims and abstract project abstract for award NA24NMFX407G0002 USA spending description.
