Overview
Grant Description
Purpose: The long-term goal of this project is to provide the outreach expertise necessary to transfer GLNPO sponsored research and monitoring data and legacy programs to clients that can apply this knowledge to enhance decision making for improved Great Lakes ecosystems and water quality.
Activities to be performed: The objectives of this project will continue the ongoing formal partnership between U.S. EPA and IISGCP in three major areas:
1. Coastal remediation and revitalization: IISGCP will continue to help GLNPO engage communities throughout the Great Lakes Legacy Act (GLLA) cleanup process and will work to facilitate revitalization.
2. Great Lakes science and monitoring: IISGCP will continue working with GLNPO to maximize the impact of monitoring data through applications such as GreatLakesMonitoring.org, applied research to expand the breadth of GLNPO monitoring, and coordination of the Coordinated Science and Monitoring Initiative (CSMI).
