Grant Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is providing $3,926,120 in federal funding to the Coastal States Stewardship Foundation, serving as fiscal sponsor for the West Coast Ocean Alliance (WCOA) Regional Ocean Partnership through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law over the next two years.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law provides funding for established Regional Ocean Partnerships (ROPs) to coordinate the interstate and intertribal management of ocean and coastal resources and to implement their priority actions, including to enhance associated sharing and integration of federal and non-federal data.
Specifically, the West Coast Ocean Alliance will use these funds to develop and begin implementation of a five-year strategic plan, coordinate and enhance tribal engagement in the West Coast Ocean Alliance, convene regional government partners to support information exchange and regional planning around offshore wind energy and other shared ocean management interests.
