Grant Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is providing $3,926,466 in federal funding to the Gulf of Mexico Alliance Regional Ocean Partnership through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law over the next two years.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law provides funding for established Regional Ocean Partnerships (ROPs) to coordinate the interstate and intertribal management of ocean and coastal resources and to implement their priority actions, including to enhance associated sharing and integration of federal and non-federal data.
Specifically, the Gulf of Mexico Alliance will provide support to conduct robust stakeholder collaboration across the region to understand the needs associated with healthy ecosystems, resilient communities, and the associated data sharing. The Gulf of Mexico Alliance will conduct thorough assessments to identify gaps as well as existing information and partner expertise needed to support improved ecosystem health, enhanced coastal community resilience.
