Project Grant

Overview

Grant Description
Funding will be used to monitor and determine the origin of emerging chemical threats to Tampa Bay, including detecting compounds linked to the Piney Point pollution release in 2021.

The results of this study will identify potential sources of emerging chemicals, as well as help assess whether fish consumption advisories should be considered for fish contaminated with the various carcinogenic substances that are the object of the study.

This will result in an improved understanding of the sources of such chemicals and what can be done to minimize their entrance into the bay.
