Cooperative Agreement
Overview
Grant Description
In response to the direction set forth in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2022 (P.L. 117-103), the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) proposes to partner with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to support coastal resilience projects that will help protect coastal communities from the impacts of storms and floods and enable them to recover more quickly, while also enhancing habitats for important fish and wildlife populations.
NFWF will also strategically support innovative best practices to inform future planning and implementation of natural systems to enhance coastal community resilience. These multi-year projects will invest in a pipeline of projects that will directly result in restoration or expansion of natural features like dunes, wetlands, reefs, riparian buffers, and barrier islands that minimize the impacts of future storms and other naturally occurring events on human, fish, and wildlife communities.
This partnership was developed.
