Overview
Grant Description
Idaho Program Objectives:
Priority One: Habitat Restoration Projects
Selected for funding in the Idaho Program, these projects will address factors limiting the abundance and productivity of Endangered Species Act (ESA)-listed Pacific salmonids in priority spawning and rearing habitat. The limiting factors for each population in each major population group of the Snake River Steelhead Distinct Population Segment (DPS) and/or Spring/Summer Chinook Salmon and Sockeye Salmon Evolutionarily Significant Units (ESU) are provided in Table 5 of this document.
The Idaho Program (Idaho Recovery Plan) is aligned with the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) 2017 ESA Recovery Plan for Idaho Snake River Spring/Summer Chinook Salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) and Snake River Steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss), as well as the NMFS 2015 Recovery Plan for Snake River Sockeye Salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka).
Priority Two: Effectiveness Monitoring
The Idaho Program will also consider funding projects that will provide effectiveness monitoring of habitat actions.
