Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
The overall goal of this restoration project is to enhance and improve habitat and watershed processes for salmonids and other important anadromous species that were once abundant in the rivers of the tribal ancestral homeland.
The abundant return of these fish populations will create the opportunity to fish in a manner that honors and maintains tribal cultural practices, and will eventually allow for subsistence fishing.
To achieve this goal, CTCLUSI will continue its work with collaborative partners to undertake the Waite Ranch Tidal Wetland Restoration Project in the Lower Siuslaw River Estuary, where coho fisheries were historically vital to the tribes.
