Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
Through a competitive annual grant process and state contracting practices, continue California's recovery efforts on behalf of federal Endangered Species Act (ESA)-listed endangered Central California Coast (CCC) coho salmon and Southern steelhead populations, as well as listed threatened Southern Oregon/Northern California coho salmon, North and Central steelhead populations, and endangered/threatened Chinook.
This includes NOAA's Species in the Spotlight: CCC coho and the Central Valley Winter-run Chinook salmon that contribute to the prey base for Southern Resident killer whales.
The primary objective is to re-establish self-sustaining healthy populations of salmonids in California.
Approximately 62% of the requested Pacific Coastal Salmon Recovery Fund (PCSRF) and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) funds will target Priority 1 projects that address factors limiting the productivity of ESA-listed Pacific salmonids as specified in approved federal and state recovery plans.
