Overview
Grant Description
This project proposes a new Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research (CIMAR) - Parallel Award. CIMAR will conduct applied and basic research that serves to further NOAA's long-term goals and objectives in the Pacific Islands region.
As a National Marine Fisheries Service Cooperative Institute and with close association with NOAA's Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center, CIMAR will be primarily involved in fisheries and ecosystem research that supports the NOAA goals of healthy oceans and resilient coastal communities and economies.
CIMAR will utilize the technological resources available at the University of Hawai'i to assist with these efforts, with emphasis on those that address NOAA's science and technology focus areas.
