Cooperative Agreement

Overview

Grant Description
In this project, CISESS scientists will utilize remotely sensed and in situ observations to further the public's awareness and understanding of Earth system variability, change, prediction, and projection. The project aims to enhance NOAA weather and climate prediction capabilities and services. It is particularly focused on weather and climate extremes such as wildfires, floods, and excess rainfall. Additionally, it supports the nation's weather and climate prediction, monitoring, and modeling infrastructure.

As the private sector explores practical and cost-effective approaches for addressing risks and opportunities resulting from changes in the Earth system, it seeks robust, reliable, and authoritative environmental information that supports its decision-making. CISESS NC will support NCEI and NOAA in their collaborative research efforts to help inform societal decision-making and foster healthy, resilient, and prosperous communities and businesses.

The results from this work will help make our communities safer and more resilient.
