Overview
Grant Description
The Coastal Response Research Center (CRRC) is a partnership between NOAA's Office of Response and Restoration (OR&R) and the University of New Hampshire (UNH). The goal of the center is to reduce the consequences of spills and other hazards that threaten coastal environments and communities by conducting research, developing new response and restoration methods, and transferring technology to practitioners.
The center focuses on the education, research, and technology involved with all aspects of spills and hazards. The overall objectives of the CRRC are developing new approaches to response and restoration through research/synthesis of information, serving as a resource for OR&R and NOAA, and a hub for basic and applied research and outreach on response and restoration to natural and human-caused disasters.
The center transforms research results into practice and educates/trains students who will pursue careers in response and restoration. CRRC addresses NOAA's long-term goal.
