Grant Description
Application purpose: The purpose of this award is to provide 1 year of operating assistance, 1 year of preventive maintenance, and 1 year of transit planning.
The required 1% dedicated to security and .75% for safety projects will be in its own grant (1828-2024-3; City Utilities of Springfield FY2023 2024 Section 5307 Formula Safety and Security Projects).
The time frame of coverage for this grant will be covering the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2023.
Activities performed: Funds will be used to cover all eligible preventive maintenance, transit planning, and operating expenses such as driver salaries, admin salaries, and fuel.
Expected outcomes: Funding will permit City Utilities Transit to meet preventive maintenance standards, continue to provide operations, keep rolling stock vehicles in a state of good repair, and ensure planning requirements are completed.
Intended beneficiaries: City Utilities Transit staff and the riders that rely on public transportation service will benefit from continued services.
