Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
Application Purpose: The Metro F Line is a planned Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line that will provide faster and more reliable transit service in the Route 10 corridor between downtown Minneapolis and Northtown Transit Center (Blaine, MN) along Nicollet Mall, Central Avenue, 53rd Avenue, and University Avenue. The Metro F Line will be the region's sixth arterial BRT line.
Activities Performed: This grant will fund project development of the Metro F Line, including planning, NEPA, and engineering/design activities.
Expected Outcomes: Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is a package of transit enhancements that adds up to a faster trip and an improved experience on Metro Transit's busiest bus routes. The Metro F Line project will bring significantly faster and more comfortable transit service to the Route 10 corridor.
Intended Beneficiaries: These improvements will benefit existing Route 10 riders and attract new transit riders as well. Metro Transit's Route 10 is one of the region's highest-ridership bus routes. About 40 percent of Route 10 customers live in low-income households, and over half of Route 10 customers are people of color.
Subrecipient Activities: None.
