Grant Description
This section 5339(b) grant provides federal funds in the amount of $2,365,600 for bus facility expansion and renovation projects for four transit agencies in Michigan. This amount is awarded under FTAs FY 2020 section 5339(b) competitive grants for buses and bus facilities program D2020-BUSC-144. This grant also provides Michigan states comprehensive transportation funds of $591,400 as match for a total grant amount of $2,957,000.
Purpose of the award: Provide section 5339(b) funds for bus facilities rehabilitation and expansion for four rural transit agencies in Michigan to improve transit infrastructure.
Activities to be performed: Paving of parking lot. Re-siding the outside of facility. Maintenance garage rehabilitation including wash bay expansion. Construction of a building for inside bus parking. Asphalt replacement. Security gate and fencing and security cameras inside and out. Replace in-ground hoist. Build bus shelter/storage for buses. Complete security fence and driveway security gates. Parking lot resurface.
Expected outcomes: Transit infrastructure will be improved for better, safer, more effective, and cost-efficient operations.
Intended beneficiaries: Public transit agencies and users as well as local communities in Michigan.
Subrecipient activities: Same as bullet no. 2 above. Stip documentation. FTAs NEPA DCE approval/COA emails. SHPO concurrence letters for Roscommon and Ogemaw. POP supplemental form and FTAs FY2020 section 5339(b) project selection announcement are attached.
