Grant Description
Application purpose: The Southeastern Regional Transit Authority (SRTA) will utilize this award for the acquisition of sixteen (16) hybrid electric fixed route buses.
The federal funds are being provided through the SRTA's FY23 5339 Low-No award with the matching funds (20%) being provided through MassDOT RTACAP.
Activities performed: The acquisition of sixteen (16) 35-ft heavy duty low-floor hybrid electric fixed route buses will serve as replacements for 30-ft conventional diesel fixed route buses of which have met or exceeded their useful life.
Expected outcomes: This project will improve the state of good repair for the SRTA's transit assets (rolling stock) in addition to providing for increased safety and enhanced operations while allowing for continued capital planning efforts.
Intended beneficiaries: Populace of the SRTA's service area and local area commuters.
Subrecipient activities: None.
