Grant Description
Application Purpose: The purpose of this grant is to provide $3578040 of federal funds to the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities to support state safety oversight activities.

Activities Performed: All funds will be used for staff salaries, staff training, consultant services, miscellaneous equipment (including personal protective equipment), and database maintenance for carrying out the statutorily mandated responsibilities of the MA DPU as the state safety oversight agency.

Expected Outcomes: Compliance with regulations and risk-based inspections.

Intended Beneficiaries: MBTA riders and citizens of Massachusetts.
