Grant Description
Award Purpose
The purpose of the grant is to collect, analyze, and publish statistical data on employment, unemployment, and wage statistics according to the Wagner-Peyser Act as amended by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

BLS releases data in partnership with the State Workforce Agencies (SWAs), which collect data, provide additional state analysis, and help disseminate the estimates.
Deliverables
Federal and state governments, and the general public use data to generate unemployment statistics, identify labor surplus areas, focus military recruitment efforts, conduct labor market analysis, develop national policy related to unemployment, and plan workforce training. The national personal income and gross domestic product statistics are also derived from this data.
Intended Beneficiary
Federal, state, and local governments use these economic statistics to assess the economy and develop policy. Private industry also uses these statistical products for labor market analysis.
