Overview
Grant Description
Application Purpose: The purpose of this award is to provide funding for rail line equipment, rail shop equipment, rail support vehicles, rail substation preventive maintenance, and security training. The useful life for the various equipment purchases greater than $5000 is given in the extended budget description for each ALI.
Activities Performed: Funding will go towards:
- Repairing traction power substation
- Installing the Carrollton double crossover
- Inspecting/replacing the Carrollton rail on the crane
- Installing switch boxes on the St. Charles line
- Completing the St. Charles Loop Phase project
- Purchasing welder truck with welder unit
- Funding Operation Lifesaver Rail Transit Safety Education Program
- Purchasing slip-resistant paint, track tools, and equipment.
Expected Outcomes: Funding will ensure streetcars and tracks remain in the best working condition.
Intended Beneficiaries: Funding will provide a safe commute for residents, employees, and visitors alike.
