Grant Description
This application is to request FY2022 Section 5307, 5339, and 5337 HOV funds apportioned to the New Orleans UZA and sub-allocated to Jefferson Parish. A split letter and official email reallocating FY17 funds to Jefferson Parish is attached.
The following is a breakdown of federal funds applied for in this grant:
- $124,160 - FY2017 5307 funds
- $5,285,000 - FY2022 5307 funds
- $280,433 - FY2022 5337 HOV funds
- $440,000 - FY2022 5339 funds
Total federal funds: $6,129,593. A local match of $3,302,391 will come from the millage.
Purpose:
The purpose of this award is to provide funds to:
- Refurbish buses
- Improve terminal/bus stops
- Acquire shop equipment
- Purchase security equipment
- Purchase office equipment
- Renovate a transit facility
- Administer this grant
- Provide preventive maintenance
- Provide paratransit assistance and operating assistance.
Activities to be performed:
Funds will be used for:
- The refurbishment of eight fixed-route vehicles approaching useful life
- Improvements at Walkertown Terminal
- Improvements at bus stops
- The purchase of security cameras
- Purchase of security equipment
- Purchase of shop/facility equipment
- Purchase of office equipment
- Facility renovations and improvements at Eastbank Facility
- Project administration of this grant
- Preventive maintenance
- Paratransit operations and operating assistance.
Expected outcomes:
This funding will ensure that all vehicles, facilities, and operations for Jefferson Transit run safely and efficiently.
Intended beneficiaries:
JET personnel and passengers will benefit from this award.
Subrecipient activities: N/A
The 1% and 0.75% security/safety requirements are met by Ali 11.42.09 Acquire - Mobile Surv/Security Equip.
By executing this grant, we certify that projects funded in this grant are included in the 2022 TAM Plan Investment Prioritization section.
