Grant Description
This application is to request Section 5307 funds apportioned to the state of Louisiana and transferred to Jefferson Parish Transit in the New Orleans urbanized area in the amount of $4,470,277 federal and $1,117,570 local. Local match funds will come from dedicated millage.

Purpose:
The purpose of this award is to fund ten replacement fixed-route vehicles, maintenance equipment, and the Westbank and Eastbank maintenance facility renovations.
Eastbank facility address: 118 David Dr. Metairie, LA 70003
Westbank facility address: 90 1st St. Gretna, LA 70053.
Activities to be performed:
Funds will be used to purchase:
- Eight 40 ft. buses
- Two 30 ft. buses
- Vehicle lifts
- Floor scrubbers
- A street sweeper
- 40-foot storage containers
- Computer technology equipment for maintenance supervisors
- Plumbing repairs for the Eastbank facility wash bay
- Repairs at Westbank facility including canopy repair/replacement for wash bay, sealing of existing parking lot surface, expansion of addition of storage units to parts room, LED lighting for shop area, electrical upgrades, and doors replacement.
Expected outcomes:
We expect these funds to help maintain a state of good repair for FTA-funded assets and improve system reliability for riders.
Intended beneficiaries:
Operations, maintenance, and administrative personnel, as well as transit riders, will benefit from this funding.
