Cooperative Agreement

Overview

Grant Description
Under this agreement, the ACE members will be embedded within the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) New Mexico State Office Fluid Minerals Operations Team, gaining hands-on experience in surface management, environmental remediation, and compliance.

The members will primarily assist with fluid minerals planning activities, including the critical task of utilizing GIS and aerial imagery to identify reclaimed and unreclaimed oil and gas pads across a multi-state region (NM OK TX KS).

The members' duties will also encompass comprehensive data management, involving both electronic and hard-copy record-keeping systems, and precise data entry into the BLM's Automated Fluid Minerals Support System (AFMSS).

Additionally, the members will contribute to the completion of oil and gas related NEPA documentation and have opportunities to shadow various BLM projects, fostering professional development and networking within federal land management agencies.

This role offers invaluable insight into environmental regulation and federal compliance measures, providing a robust foundation for a career in natural resource management.

This agreement and accompanying budget supports the first year of service in anticipation of additional funds for a second year.
