Grant Description
The City of Henderson will construct an approximate 21-acre park on public land north of the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area (NCA) in Henderson, Nevada.
The park will expand upon and add trails, provide additional recreational amenities, and further protect the area for public enjoyment.
These new amenities include trails with interpretive elements inspired by petroglyphs, art sculptures, a children's play area, plaza and interpretive area, restroom facility, and a roadway with parking.
This project will provide the public with an experience that connects them to nature, serves as an educational outlet, and is mindful of the environment.
It will also increase accessibility to Sloan Canyon NCA for all to enjoy the unique topography and petroglyphs found in this site.
